Sitting on a bench at the port of Piraeus, Greece, in the terminal duty free area using the free WiFi connection, I wonder why we can’t be sitting on the ship in a comforting lounge chair to check email. It’s because the ship charges $25 a day for an Internet connection. They also block cell phone data connections while in port.

When just about every hotel and restaurant at home offers a free connection, I believe this is clearly abusive. The other guests we’ve met feel much the same, this evidenced by our many travel mates here in the terminal doing much the same. Wake up, cruise ship companies!
